Camp Falcon Offers Summer Activities, Fun

Wondering what your kids can do this summer? Send them to camp! UT Permian Basin will be hosting two sessions of Camp Falcon, its annual summer camp for kids.

Camp Falcon is designed for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade. Sessions dates are June 2 through June 27 and June 30 through July 25, closed on July 4.

“Camp Falcon provides a unique opportunity for students to be exposed to a wide range of fun activities,” Rey Lascano, director of continuing education , said. “This is a great environment for students to learn while having a blast.”

Students can participate in a wide range of activities, and Lascano said Camp Falcon will have something for every child.

This summer’s classes include racquetball, t-ball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, bowling, soccer, frisbee, and floor hockey, swimming, radical reading, theater acting, dynamic arts & crafts, farm animal fair, green thumb activities, music, languages across the world, having fun with science and American Sign Language.

“Farm animal fair will be led by members from the FFA. It’s very popular – they’ll be bringing horses, pigs, goats, cows and sheep for the campers to see and learn about,” Lascano added.

Permian Basin Master Gardeners lead the green thumb activities, and campers enrolled in music class will learn to read music as well as perform.

Lunch is provided.

The cost of each monthly session is $495. Weekly sessions are $125, and weekly half-day sessions are $70. Daily drops-ins are also welcome to participate for $35/day. Students may be registered in advance or at the time of their arrival for the session. For more information and to register, please contact Ray Lascano at 552-2556 or visit www.utpb.edu/ce.
