Randall's Clark signs with UTPB

Hillarey Clark, a Randall forward known for her speed, signed an agreement Wednesday to play soccer for the University of Texas-Permian Basin.

Clark joins an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Heartland Conference and went 7-9-2 last season.

Randall won the District 3-4A title and advanced to the Region I-4A semifinals, losing to Aledo 2-0.

Clark, who plans to study toward a degree in veterinary medicine, said her fast footwork is her best attribute on the soccer field.

Though not much taller than 5 feet, Clark is a tough player on the pitch, Randall coach Whitney McClain said.

"She is very aggressive and quick. You can't let her looks fool you," McClain said. "When she came off the bench for us, our level of play did not go down."
