To encourage all eligible students to pursue a university education during the summer, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin offers to all undergraduates the Summer Jumpstart Scholarship equal to 50 percent of the tuition and fees for freshman and sophomore level courses.
The Jumpstart Scholarship will save students more than $230 per class this semester. The scholarship makes tuition for a three credit course, such as art appreciation, only $236.85.
In the UTPB course register, these courses are designated as 1100-1600 and 2100-2699 level courses. The Jumpstart Scholarship is applicable to lower division courses only for Summer 2008. Who is eligible?
* All continuing students with a 2.0 gpa * All transfers with a 2.0 gpa * All entering freshmen * Dual credit and early admissions high school students

How to Apply
nNew Students must submit an application to UTPB by going online to www.applytexas.org, provide an official transcript and SAT or ACT scores. Free applications for admissions are available at UTPB Admissions Office. Students who have not passed THEA are still eligible to apply and enroll at UTPB. ACT testing is available at UTPB.
Transfer students must submit an application to UTPB by going online to www.applytexas.org and provide a current transcript.
