UT-PB signee Mills heads Dogs all-state swimming list

NEDERLAND -- Besides owning four school records, Kyle Mills is enabling his swimming pool efforts to pay for his college education.
The 18-year-old Nederland senior signed a letter of intent Thursday to accept a swimming scholarship at UT-Permian Basin in Odessa. |

UTPB One Step Closer to New Science and Technology Complex

ODESSA - The UT Permian Basin is one step closer to the opening of its new Science and Technology Complex.
They broke ground on Thursday for the 54 million dollar, 70-thousand square foot facility that will include more classrooms, labs, offices, and student study areas for all science students.
The new facility will be located south of the Mesa Building and construction is scheduled to be complete by the Summer of 2010.

Parents, faculty, coaches discuss fund-raising, donation with board of trustees April 15, 2008 BY ELAINE MARSILIO
Trustees heard plans Tuesday from a collaboration of Odessa High supporters, faculty and coaches who hope to raise funds for and build a $1.5 million 200-by-214-foot-long indoor athletic facility.
OHS athletic coordinator Ron King told trustees the school needs the facility to better prepare the student athletes for games and contests and that it would allow all athletes to take advantage of an indoor training experience.
"We need some space to allow our kids to compete," King said. |
